While Phil Collins' song of the name above was a real downer, this week has been moderate for myself. I still haven't found work, although I had an alright interview with a PR firm on Monday. I should hear soon if I get a follow-up. I also have another interview next week with a firm that hires street fundraisers for Charity. It might be interesting to give that a go for a while.
Another thing I'm thinking of, is busking. I'm trying to figure out how it works in London, but the idea is not entirely implausible. I am an out of work musician, and what better way to make money than by playing music. The only thing is I'll have to work up my repertoire of covers, as I don't think the S.P. originals would earn me much money ..... yet.... If you have any suggestions for covers that I could play on the mean streets of London, don't hesitate to comment!
The band is starting to morph. In a good way. I mean considering we've only jammed together maybe 7 times, we're actually beginning to form "our sound" as opposed to something else. It's very Sonic Youth meets Explosions in the Sky, but it is very good, very original, and entrancing. I can't wait to get out there and play it for people.
It's an exciting time, although it is hard to believe I've been here for almost two months already. Time is flying!
Cheers!
S.P.
