So the rain's coming down outside, I'm sleepy, and I've eaten too much. Yes you read correctly, it's Friday, I'm tired and don't have much to write.
What I do have is some very special information. A date has been set for the EP release! Yep, you read right. The details will be posted in the very near future!
It's been a while since I've reviewed/promoted a band on this site, but it's time to change that, if only for a day.
We Were Promised Jetpacks are Scotland's latest export and they're coming to Toronto this weekend, opening for The Twilight Sad. Their debut album, These Four Walls, is a piece of indie-pop genius. Scorching guitars, driving rhythms and that ever so great Glaswegian voice that just begs you to keep listening. Even better, the album was released on vinyl, so I picked it up at work at a discount (and I love discounts).
There really isn't a bum track on this album. The first single Quiet Little Voices (shown below) gives you the general jist of the album, but there's enough difference between the tracks to give your ears something new to listen to every time the needle moves. I'm going to check them out this Saturday at the El Mocambo and you should too!
It's been far too long since the T-Shirt Draw and I still haven't sent those shirts out! My apologies to the winners, they will definitely go out later this week (I've got Thursday/Friday off, so probably then).
The EP is still with the mastering engineer, but we should be seeing some results in the next 7 days or so, then it's off to the printer! Sweet!
Now to try and find a venue for the release party!
