So as we get ready to release our debut, I've been looking for new venues to promote Beware! The Leopard. A friend of mine pointed me to The Sixty One which is a great space for artists and fans a like. It's set up almost like a game where you accumulate reputation points based on how many people like the artists you pick. There are also quests to fulfill at your leisure some of which involve listening to new artists, or recently added artists. This is where the site gets really good from the artist's perspective.
We've got our first single "Locked Up Tight" (now playing in the sidebar) on the site, and in less than 24 hours we got 100 listens. This is more than we get on sites like Myspace or Reverbnation. I think it's because there's a more active component to listening. People are encouraged to search out new stuff, as opposed to the other sites which are far more passive.
Anyway, check it out, and if you get the chance, make sure you give us a big heart.
